What is tallow balm?
Tallow balm (also sold as tallow cream) is one of the oldest moisturisers there is. Its main fatty acids, stearic, palmitic and oleic, are the same kinds found in the lipids of your skin. That's why a well-made balm sinks in rather than sitting on top. One jar covers face, body, hands, lips and heels.
Which tallow balm is right for you?
- Less is More: unscented, just tallow and jojoba. Start here if your skin is sensitive.
- Milk & Honey: vanilla and linden blossom.
- Monastery: infused with seven organic herbs.
- Holy Grail: our richest, with baobab and tamanu, for very dry skin.
- Desert Rose: a limited batch with rose and vanilla.
How to use tallow balm
Take a pea-sized amount and warm it between your fingertips until it turns to oil. Press it into clean, slightly damp skin, morning or night. Use less than you think you need.
Questions
Does it smell of beef? Well-rendered suet barely smells. Our scented balms smell of their botanicals.
Will it clog my pores? Most people with normal to dry skin find it doesn't, but every skin is different. If you're prone to breakouts, test it on a small area first.
Where does your tallow come from? Kidney suet from Dutch farms we know and question closely, including Lindenhoff in Baambrugge.
